Deutscher Kammerchor

The Deutscher Kammerchor is the first self-managed professional chamber choir in Germany, founded in 2001 on the initiative of its singers.
The variety of experience and biography of the individual members forms the basis of a colourful ensemble, whose many facets blend into a harmonious unity. The wide repertoire of music of the 16th century up to the avant-garde thus reflects the specialities of particular members but also the flexibility and openness of the whole choir. The Deutscher Kammerchor has realised projects with a number of artistic directors, for example Harry Christophers, Wayne Marshall, Daniel Harding or Heinz Holliger, on a scale between solo quartet and oratorio chorus. Certain programmes are performed without conductor.
Cooperation with other ensembles and orchestras is determined by the requirements of the project; solo parts, depending on the programme, are often performed by members of the choir.
